China’s economy slowed in the third quarter. Gross domestic product expanded 4.9% from a year earlier, down from a previously reported 7.9% in the preceding quarter and compared with a median forecast of 5% in a Bloomberg survey of economists. Helen Qiao, chief Greater China economist at BofA Global Research, discusses what the latest figures say about the state of the economy.
